PreciKam is the result of the merger between Precimold and Kamek Precision Tools.

Some key dates

2019 – Precimold and Kamek rebranded PreciKam.

2019 – Precimold closes its facility in Candiac Quebec and consolidates in Baie d’Urfe.

2018 – Precimold acquires Kamek Precision Tools from Hans Kerber.

2017 – Precimold awarded the new IATF certification.

2016 – Gunter Weiss sells Precimold to a new ownership group.

2011 – Kamek expands to state of the art new 68,000 ft facility at 22000 Trans Canada Hwy.

2008 – Kamek was awarded the prize of the Accolades 2008 – Enterprise of the year by the West Island Chamber of Commerce for manufacturing with 50 employees and more category.

2005 – Kamek was ISO 9001/2000, AS9100B and TS16949/2002 certified.

1999 – PreciKam was ISO certified.

1999 – Precimold adds 15,000 of new warehousing to Candiac facility.

1998 – Kamek added a class 10 000 permanent clean room.

1997 – Kamek was founded by Hans Kerber with 2 employees and one conventional Arburg molding machine operating in Ville St. Laurent.

1989 – Precimold adds 10,000 feet of new production space to Candiac Facility.

1985 – Gunter Weiss is named Plastic industries Man of the Year.

1979 – Precimold moves from the Town of Mont Royal (QC) to a brand new 20,000-foot facility in Candiac QC.

1966 – Weiss Industries Inc. (later renamed Precimold) is founded by Gunter Weiss as a precision tool making shop.

Precimold Inc. was founded in 1966 by Gunter Weiss a master tool maker who emigrated to Canada from East Germany in 1961.  Gunter Weiss, an acknowledged industry guru, grew Precimold into a recognized industry leader in complex mold making, engineered resins and technical plastic injection molded components.  Precimold was the first company, outside of Germany, to build a mold for a prestigious German automotive part manufacturer.  The German toolmakers said it could not be done; Precimold accomplished the impossible.

Kamek Precision Tools was founded in 1996 by Hans Kerber who emigrated to Canada from Austria.  Hans’ visionary leadership guided Kamek to an award-winning high precision molder and assembler with a strong medical and aerospace clientele.  Kamek built its reputation on tight processes and pride in how parts are made and assembled. Kamek won an Accolades award as the best manufacturer in the West Island of Montreal in 2008.

The combined company has over 75 years of molding and mold making experience.

PreciKam has established a global reputation in its markets and carries ISO certifications including the prestigious IATF (Automotive), AS 9100 (Aerospace and Defense), ISO13485 (Medical), ISO 9100.  PreciKam is also C-TPAT and controlled goods registered.  We are one of the best and technically competent molders in North America.  The combined company consolidated operations in Baie d’Urfe, Quebec, Canada in a class 9 (clean) facility.

With 27 European plastic injection molding machines (from micro-molding machines to 300 tons of clamping force), Zeiss optical measuring systems, class 7 permanent cleanroom, class 8 portable cleanrooms and class 9 overall facility.   PreciKam has become a leading manufacturer for technical Medical, Health, Aerospace, Electronic and Automotive products.  We are well known for the support we provide small and medium sized companies as they work with us with their new innovations.

We are proud of our diversity and the fact that we speak over eighteen languages and have team members and managers from every continent (except Antarctica).  PreciKam has invested heavily in the technical depth of the company, in 2016 there were no professional engineers at Precimold, today there are 7.  In 2019 we invested in over 4500 hours for team member training in all facets of the company.  Our policy is always to promote from within our team.
