SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Performs all tasks required in the production of high-quality plastic injection-molded parts and related operations such as medical digital printing and complex micro-molding. Ensures that quality procedures are followed and maintains a safe, clean work environment. Capable of training others to develop the various skills required from Level I through Level IV operator.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote a safe and clean work environment by following established company policies and procedures.
  • Follow procedures outlined in manufacturing processes and general guidelines.
  • Adhere to GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
  • Operate a variety of molding machines and associated equipment.
  • Operate the weighing scale, perform advanced part inspections, and monitor molded parts on your assigned machine; report any deviations to the Injection Molding Technician.
  • Report any safety, quality, or operational concerns to the shift supervisor and/or the Injection Molding Technician.
  • Sort all plastic components as required.
  • Remove runners (may require cutting with a knife or gate cutter).
  • Remove defective parts (e.g., with flash, incomplete fill, sink marks, etc.) in accordance with quality plans.
  • Remove dust and plastic particles.
  • Record all scrapped parts on the recovery log sheet and retain parts for verification by the inspection department.
  • Carefully carry out instructions provided by the supervisor or delegate.
  • Notify the Injection Molding Technician when a work order is near completion or if downtime occurs.
  • Sign and write your identification number on accepted green labels; apply acceptance and/or rejection labels to the boxes you pack.
  • Ensure all boxes, bags, or bins contain an inspection report and a work order.
  • Enter data into the IQMS system (after training).
  • Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA).
  • Work in cleanroom environments, including assembly of Embout and Autocruise components.
  • Carry out medical and complex digital printing on molded and micro-molded parts.
  • Provide guidance and training to Level I, II, and III operators.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or related work experience.
  • Or equivalent experience as deemed satisfactory by the hiring manager.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machine operator.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for work.
  • Proven ability to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide less experienced production operators.
  • Strong time management skills.
